Greg Universe Theory/HC?

jankybones:

Okay so we all know the cool dad Greg Universe, yeah? Right, well I have a little headcanon sort of, I could be totally 100% wrong but it just made a little sense to me!

If someone else has pointed this out, PLEASE tell me cause I’d like to read their HC’s too and shake their hand for having a similar train of thought as me…

Now let’s start back at the episode Rose’s room. It made up the whole town, Connie, Frybo, Lars and Sadie, Greg…But what was weird about this?

Everyone seemed kind of off. Lifeless and played out like puppets on strings by the room, not knowing anything about their personalities.

Steven felt something was wrong because of this, of course. It wasn’t hard to tell at all!

Now Greg, though. He acted fairly like himself. Supportive, a little silly, more characterized and real. He had personality!

It’s as if the room knew how to play him! Now let’s take a quick look at Open Book.

Before Connie had been in the room, it had played her in Rose’s Room, but still with no personality. She was just lifeless, repeating a line that Steven probably favored. “He was incredible!” The room was probably able to pull that out of his head, but not much else.

But in Open Book, she had been in the room and it could play her a little better, but…not much. It still eventually faltered and Steven figured things out.

So if the room can create people, and play them off with a personality after seeing them in person…

My theory is that Rose had taken Greg into her room before, and shown him things. What kinds of things? All kinds probably, but mostly what I’m hinting at is…

The Gem war that took place thousands of years ago. Something important or personal must have happened between them of course for her to show him, and she definitely deemed Greg worthy and responsible enough to handle such knowledge, otherwise…how would he know?

And he definitely spoke as if he were lying to Steven. “It’s not like I was there!” But perhaps he was. Perhaps he saw the entire war recreated right in front of his eyes within Rose’s room? That could explain why he knew so much? That could also explain why the room could give him a personality far more characterized than anyone else’s, because he had been in the room before.

Now I’m not really solid on my headcanons, I don’t take them above anyone else’s or too seriously, but they’re definitely fun to think about! What do you guys think? And add-ons or loop holes? I’d love to hear!
