postmarxed:

just finding out about the Diamond Pipeline this morning. Native activists are planning an encampment similar to the one at Standing Rock. This pipeline is gonna cross my whole state as well as 4 different native jurisdictions in Oklahoma. There are 491 water crossings along the route and this is being built by a company with a history of spills due to poor safety practices. Fortunately it’s already being met with resistance. Protesters were able to temporarily shut down the refinery that the pipeline will lead to in Memphis but this is still not getting much attention. Hopefully this movement will continue to grow and put a stop to this.
