rereading AOA again and ugh i just love how in the beginning jace feels so guilty and just awful about being even indirectly responsible for someone elses death and it makes his stomach churn and hes so horrified by the idea of breaking someones mind 

but by the end of it hes just sunk so low and is able to justify turning people into mindless adult babies because at least theyre still alive. (even though he thinks destroying someones mind like that is a fate worse than death)
