There’s an unwritten rule at Lucasfilm that every Star Wars show must have at least one episode that revolves around the characters having to look after a child or children who cause trouble and The Mandalorian took it to the logical extreme which is having the show’s entire plot revolve around this.

Such is the natural progression of the universe.
