Soldier 76 traded in his Harley for a minivan because it was easier to get people around in. He feels emasculated, but he always plays the newest Lucio album for his “grandkids” when they get in, even though nobody ever asked him to buy it. He doesn’t get it, but sometimes, if he thinks nobody is looking, you can catch him nodding his head to the beat ever so slightly.

You ask Soldier 76 to buy you the thing new that’s out that you really want. He starts yelling and complaining, saying “Do you have any idea how little I make on retirement? You’re killing me here” as he puts on his boots and jacket. He helps you find what you’re looking for at the store.

You tell Soldier 76 you’re being bullied and he calls you a wimp. “Sounds like you need to toughen up, learn how to take care of yourself.” He puts on his jacket and leaves the house. You don’t know what happened, but they’ve stopped bullying you.

When Soldier 76 is sick, his voice becomes so gravelly he’s incomprehensible. Mercy calls him “Batman” when he’s like this. Soldier 76 tells her she’s too young to even know who that is, and to not use that name lightly. Batman was one of his childhood heroes. 

There’s an old, faded lunchbox with Commander Morrison on it from Overwatch’s glory days waiting for you every morning. There’s a well balanced, nutritional meal inside and something spiked in the thermos labelled “Just in case” with $10 on the side if you don’t like what he made. If you bring it back untouched, he calls you ungrateful. There’s always another the next day.

Soldier 76 vehemently believes that the Moon Gorillas were faked by the government. He sometimes inspects Winston for costume seams.
