Moves: Shell Smash is the primary draw of Minior because Shell Smash will boost Minior’s attack, special attack, and speed by two stage, at the cost of both of its defense stats. Acrobatics is Minior’s most reliable flying stab move. Stone Edge is Minior’s strongest rock stab move. Earthquake hits the steel types who would resist Stone Edge and Acrobatics, while giving Minior that famous EdgeQuake coverage.

Spread: Max attack makes Minior hit very hard after a Shell Smash boost. 108 speed EVs with a Jolly nature allows Minior to outspeed non scarfed Pheromosa after a Shell Smash boost. The rest of the EVs are then put into hp to increase Minior’s overall bulk. White Herb restores the stats that are decreased after a Shell Smash and is a consumable item which is perfect when using Acrobatics. Shields Down is the only ability that Minior gets so we’re forced to go with that. It is pretty interesting as it turns it into its other form when below half health which is considerably more powerful, but less bulky.

Team Support/Usage: Minior is a decent set up sweeper with a unique typing and ability. It can be difficult to use properly and is a little bit situational along with it requiring some support. However, when the correct conditions are met it can put some real work in. For one, minior is going to need to take a hit or two while trying to set up so that Shields Down will activate and transform it to its more powerful form. You don’t want it to transform until you have the chance to set up though, as the added bulk helps in doing such. Minior is also going to require assistance in taking out Celesteela and Skarmory, as they can easily wall Minior if they are defensive. Magnezone can do a pretty good job at doing such. Wallbreakers like Tapu Lele are also required because Minior will struggle in taking out things like Landorus-t and Hippowdon. Lastly, Mega Pinsir can form a bird spam core with Minior and break down eachothers checks.
